Zinc Building Materials

Since 1991, Sheet Metal Supply has supplied the roofing industry with the best zinc building materials on the market. We supply our products from a company called RHEINZINK. Zinc has been used on roofs for more than 150 years and exists naturally in air, water, and soil. Zinc building materials do not require a lot of energy for manufacturing because it is fully recyclable, from construction scrap to end of use. Nothing ends up in a landfill. Zinc is the fourth most used metal in the world.

Zinc adds a high-quality look to a structure and adds architectural detail like no other metal. It is long-lasting, versatile, low maintenance, and will save you money in the long run. Zinc building materials never rust or corrode and age gracefully with the proper detailing, fabrication, installation, and understanding. Walls and roofs made from zinc can last between 50 to 100 years.

Zinc building materials have their own protective layer; zinc hydroxyl-carbonate. These layers block moisture and chemicals from penetrating the zinc and heal over time if it is ever scratched. Zinc is less expensive than asphalt when you consider the lifespan of a house. Copper is also about twice the price of zinc. The run-off from zinc building material s clean and will not stain other materials. Zinc is lighter weight than slate tiles and slate. The structural base of zinc is also less expensive.

A zinc roof reflects heat and blocks its transfer to an attic. Zinc sheeting is malleable and can be formed into angles or curves. Zinc cladding is resistant t fire damage and helps prevent a fire from spreading to combustible materials. Zinc panels are available in many shapes, adding an artistic element to a roof or entire building. Zinc building materials are often used to restore historic roofs and buildings.
